Sand Cat

Sand-CatThe Sand Cat lives in the deserts from north Africa to southwest and central Asia. They are nocturnal predators who eat small rodents, birds, reptiles, and insects. To protect their feet from the hot desert sand, they have long fur between their toes. They can withstand temperatures from below freezing to well over 100 degrees. Because of loss of habitat, their population is declining.
