When we call someone a bird brain, we mean that they lack intelligence. Given what we have learned about the African Gray Parrot, we may want to reconsider. Studies show that they have reasoning capability equivalent to a four-year-old human child. Only consider an African Gray as a pet if you plan to spend considerable time with it. The African Gray likes learning and forming a relationship and will become frustrated if left alone. When frustrated, the African Gray will chew up things and pull out its feathers.
